A MOSQUITO IN YOUR BEDROOM
Should you ever feel too small and insignificant for your actions to have any weight, remember the effect of a single mosquito in your bedroom while you try to sleep. Every individual action, no matter how small, has its consequences. It's in your power to save energy, insulate your home, get around by walking and cycling, and use renewable energy and low energy electrical items. Try reducing the amount you buy, reuse items and materials and recycle what you don't need any more. Buy local products when they are in season and you will save on emissions from transport and storage. Try eating more fish and less meat; a cow generates as much CO2 as a car driving 12,000 km and the production of a kilo of meat uses up 15,000 litres of water. Plant trees and let a few wild plants grow among your pots for the bees; you don't need to eradicate every creature from your garden. And why not join in community initiatives to collect environmental data!
